First Aid courses encompass adult, child and infant CPR and first aid skills, and incorporate Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training and emergency oxygen use. First Aid also offers comprehensive First Aid at Work courses, specifically designed to meet national and international compliance standards for CPR and first aid courses in the workplace.

The First Aid courses build lay rescuer confidence to provide care when faced with a medical emergency. Participants learn and practice the same patient care techniques and principles used by medical professionals, but at a lay person level.

Product Description

The fun part about First Aid training is learning serious medical emergency response skills in an upbeat, positive environment. You gain the confidence that you are prepared to help in an emergency.

What You Learn in the First Aid Primary and Secondary Care Courses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR and rescue breathing at the layperson level
  • AED (automated external defibrillator) use (optional)
  • Preventing and caring for shock
  • Spinal injury management
  • Use of barriers to reduce disease transmission risk
  • Basic first aid and first aid kit considerations

The Learning Materials You Need
Through a combination of independent study and skill practice with an instructor, you’ll build the confidence and skills to provide basic emergency care. The Primary and Secondary Care Manual and video on DVD preview emergency scenarios and provide step-by-step skill demonstrations.

The First Aid Care at a Glance card is a quick-reference guide for emergency situations. Designed to fit in a glove compartment or backpack, the Care at a Glance card is an important component for any first-aid or disaster preparedness kit.

Prerequisites
To enroll in First Aid courses, you must care about other people and want to be able to assist them in a medical emergency

Your Next Adventure
After completing Primary and Secondary Care, take the Rescue Diver course and the Emergency Oxygen Provider course. Together, these three courses round out your ability to handle scuba diver emergencies.

  • Freediver

    $50.00 – $550.00

Have you ever wondered how some people can hold their breath for very long and dive? This is the fairly new and growing world of freediving! Aquarius Scuba is proud to begin it’s very own freediving training at the Etobicoke Olympium on Monday nights.

    What is freediving?

Freediving is any of various aquatic activities that share the practice of breath-hold underwater diving. Examples include breath-hold spearfishing, freedive photography, apnea competitions and, to a degree, snorkeling. The activity that garners the most public attention is competitive apnea, an extreme sport, in which competitors attempt to attain great depths, times or distances on a single breath without direct assistance of an underwater breathing apparatus.

The sport of freediving is becoming more popular all over the world, especially with younger generations, and we are proud to say we have helped it grow in Toronto. Join our class and pool session, and you will meet pro freediving coaches, who were part of the world-record breath-hold dive.

Join our optional 1 year Club Membership for only $150, to benefit from world class coaching and quality practice at the Etobicoke Olympium Pool.

**PLEASE NOTE: Discover Freediving is offered on Monday nights at the Etobicoke Olympium Pool. The AIDA 1 Star Pool course is offered every second Thursday of every month. You may upgrade to AIDA 2 Star at any time and continue on with your training on the next 2-3 Thursday nights. Choose the month that best fits your schedule.**
