We’ve been about diving for a very long time. We’ve made a career out of it and are very passionate about it. We can’t get enough of it. It continues to change our lives. We believe that once you train a diver, and teach them to dive safely, they tend to care about the ocean, about its conservation and ecology, and about its preservation and protecting it.

The more people that we can bring in as certified divers and teach them these things, the better off that stewardship will be along with the survivability and future of our oceans. We use not 1 but 2 beautifully maintained large swimming pools located in the GTA for training. Most notable is the famous 17 ft. deep Etobicoke Olympium Pool, just minutes from the dive shop. Our newly renovated weekend pool for the Open Water course, George Harvey Pool, is also less than 10 minutes from the shop and is 25 yd x 38 ft big, 3½ – 12 ft. deep, and 78º – 82ºF (26º – 28ºC) warm! As you already may have noticed, we use only the best pools in our local community, because let’s face it.. it’s better for training right? Better pool training means better learning and more confident divers. We are in-water training focused. Every training standard is met so that the student receives the right amount of time to train in our pools for their given course. Students also have the free option to join the Aquarius Scuba Pool Night, held at the Etobicoke Olympium Pool every Monday night, to refresh their skills before a trip or just as an excuse to get in the water. Our students and regular customers are welcome at any time for free.

We have over 40 active instructors. This means we can offer you private or semi-private scuba lessons with ease. We also offer e-learning courses for your added convenience. We understand that during these busy times businesses need to be flexible. That is why we offer open water checkouts at locations that give our customers options. If you want to stay closer to home for your checkout dives, then we offer Gulliver’s Lake. It’s the perfect option for you if you need to be home after the dives. With no boat traffic, perfect water conditions, and our very own built 20 x 20 platform at 20 ft. down, it is a very safe place for training. If you would like to get away for the weekend, then we can give you the option of Tobermory or Brockville to complete your Advanced Open Water course. At Aquarius Scuba, we believe that ‘Every Safe Diving Standard’ should be met and exceeded. Our students can be confident that they get the same level of training all over the world. At Aquarius Scuba our classes are full most of the year without exception because of the high standards and dedication to students we are best known for. Other dive centers promoting ‘small classes’ often do so because they simply do not have as many clients as we do to fill a class. However, if our course is full, we always bring in more than enough instructors, assistant instructors, and divemasters to lower the ratio of Pros to students. It’s our commitment to focus on our quality of education, not quantity.

Would you want to breathe contaminated air? Health effects on divers vary depending on the contaminant. The most severe symptoms of breathing contaminated gas are impaired judgment and loss of consciousness, both of which may be deadly underwater. Some contaminants may not cause direct harm to the diver’s health; rather, they cause equipment damage increasing the diver’s risk for accident and injury. For example: excessive moisture may cause regulators to freeze or malfunction, corrosion and oxidation of scuba tanks, and reduce the efficiency of compressor filtration.

With our state-of-the-art Bauer electric-motor compressor with a SECURUS monitor system, we ensure that only the purest air, nitrox, and trimix is produced for our customers. The air is tested annually by Maxxam Analytics to offer further protection of breathing gas purity. Our air has the lowest moisture content possible, allowing your scuba tanks to last longer and be safer to use. Our air fills exceed the purity requirements of CSA Standards Z180.1 and Z275.2. You will simply not find purer air anywhere else. We have been told more than once, by professionals in the industry, that we maintain one of the best air-fill stations in North America. We simply care so much about your safety.
