            Diver Propulsion Vehicle Course

            $199.00

Diver propulsion vehicles (DPV) offer a thrilling way for scuba divers to see a lot of underwater territory in a short amount of time. They scoot you through the water allowing you to glide over reefs, buzz around a large wreck or weave through a kelp forest. Whether making a shore or boat dive, a DPV is a great way to see more and have fun doing it.

If you’re at least 12 years old and a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or higher, you can enroll in the PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle course.

            PADI materials: $69.99
            DPV unit rental: $120

            Product Description

            What will you learn?

The PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle course guides you in choosing the right DPV for you. You’ll make two dives and learn about:

            • Maintaining your DPV.
            • How to plan dives, including procedures for staying with your buddy.
            • DPV-handling skills, such as making proper descents and ascents.
            • Potential problems and ways to deal with them.

Get credit! The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification – ask your instructor about earning credit.

How can you start learning now?

Stop by our dive shop to enroll in the course, pick up your Diver Propulsion Vehicle Manual and Diver Propulsion Vehicle video and start learning. By studying independently, you’re better prepared to get in the water with your instructor and start “scootering.”

What scuba gear will you use?

Of course, you’ll need a DPV along with your basic scuba equipment. If you have your own DPV, your instructor will have you complete all your training using it. Ask your PADI Instructor which DPVs are available, and what other additional equipment you may need for your scuba diving exploration with a DPV. Aquarius Scuba is proud to use the highest quality DPVs, SUEX.

            • Sidemount Diver

              $299.00 – $499.00

Having scuba tanks on your back isn’t a requirement for exploring the underwater world. Many scuba divers have discovered the joy of mounting cylinders on their sides. Sidemount diving gives you flexibility and streamlining options. Plus, you don’t have to walk with heavy cylinders on your back – just enter the water, clip them on and go. Sound interesting? Sign up for the PADI Sidemount Diver Specialty course.

If you’re a PADI Open Water Diver who is at least 15 years old, you can enroll in a PADI Sidemount Diver course.

The TDI Sidemount Diver Course is the ideal specialty for any diver wishing to use this increasingly popular equipment configuration; either as a stand-alone course OR in conjunction with one of TDI’s other open circuit technical specialties such as Decompression Procedures, Extended Range, Trimix, Advanced Trimix, and Advanced Wreck. If this course is combined, the requirements for BOTH courses must be met. The TDI Sidemount Diver course teaches students how to utilize side-mounted primary cylinders as an alternative to the traditional back-mounted method.

              Extra Costs
              PADI Sidemount Manual: $69.99
              TDI Sidemount Manual: $69.99
Sidemount System Rental (BCD, regulators, 2 Nitrox tanks): $300

            • Ice Diver

              $200.00

If extreme, unusual and challenging scuba diving scenarios appeal to you, try diving under the ice. Ice diving is one of the most adventurous scuba specialties because you confront conditions and see beauty few others ever experience. Plus, you might get a chance to play with your exhaled bubbles on the bottom of the ice. Flash your PADI Ice Diver certification card to get instant respect, and usually a lot of questions from other divers about what it’s like under the ice.

You need to be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver who is at least 18 years old to enroll in the Ice Diver course. Six divers minimum required for safety reasons.

            • Digital Underwater Photographer & Videographer

              $150.00 – $287.00

Underwater photography and videography is one of the most popular diving specialties, and with so many underwater cameras to choose from, it has become easier and more fun than ever to capture images and videos of your underwater scuba adventures. The PADI Digital Underwater Photographer & Videographer course gets you going quickly, whether you use a point-and-shoot camera, a GoPro, or a sophisticated DSLR like the pros. Video is the best way to share the sights, sounds, motion and dynamics of the underwater world. If you want to get the best clips and also learn to edit your scuba diving stories to share with friends through ScubaEarth® and other social media, then this specialty course is for you. Learn to create underwater videos that are interesting, entertaining and worth watching again and again.

PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers who are at least 10 years old are eligible to take the Digital Underwater Photographer & Videographer course.

Because underwater photography and videogrpahy is also popular with snorkelers, there is an option for avid snorkelers and skin divers to complete the course. Check with our dive shop if this interests you.

            • Night Diver

              $150.00

The thought of dipping below the surface at night seems mysterious, yet so alluring. Although you’ve been scuba diving at a site many times before, at night you drop into a whole new world and watch it come to life under the glow of your dive light. The scene changes as day creatures retire and nocturnal organisms emerge. If you’ve wondered what happens underwater after the sun goes down, sign up for the PADI Night Diver Specialty course.

PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers or higher, who are at least 12 years old, can enroll in the Night Diver specialty course.

              PADI materials required.

            • Cavern Diver

              $200.00

Caverns exist in many areas where scuba divers venture – from freshwater springs to volcanic island walls and limestone coasts. In these locations you’ll find large, dark spaces that seem incredibly inviting, yet are potentially dangerous. The PADI Cavern Diver Specialty course gives you the knowledge and skills to explore caverns correctly – allowing you to enter far enough for adventure, but staying within the light zone for an easy exit to open water.

You need to be PADI Advanced Open Water Diver who is at least 18 years old to enroll in the Cavern Diver course.
