Instructor Development Course
$499.00 – $2,549.00
If you like people, have a passion for scuba diving and want an extraordinary life – become an Open Water Scuba Instructor. Teaching scuba diving allows you to share your love of the aquatic world with others while doing what you enjoy – being in, around and under water. Open Water Scuba Instructors and Assistant Instructors are the most sought-after dive professionals around the world because they’ve completed the program that sets the standard for training dive professionals. You earn an Instructor rating through hard work and commitment, but you’re rewarded with a job that lets you share incredible underwater adventures with others – transforming their lives for the better and enriching yours.
Are you ready to join the ranks of the dedicated professionals who teach the world’s most progressive and popular scuba diver education programs? Then Go PRO with an Instructor Development Course.
The Instructor Development Course (IDC) is made up of two parts – the Assistant Instructor (AI) course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program. Most dive professionals complete the entire IDC and go on to attend an Instructor Examination (IE), which is the final step to earn an Instructor certification.
Successfully completing just the AI course results in an Assistant Instructor qualification. When an AI is ready to progress, attending an OWSI program allows entry into an IE to earn a full Instructor rating.
**PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: Mandatory IDC eLearning not included ($411). Dive Theory eLearning highly recommended ($144). Instructor examination fee not included (approx. $600). Equipment not included.**

This is the second level certification course for divers wishing to utilize a Closed-Circuit Rebreather (CCR) for mixed gas diving using a Helitrox Diluent. You can take this course directly if you are a trained decompression diver in open circuit. The objective of the course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for diving a CCR and to develop basic CCR diving skills, to a maximum of 45 meters/150 feet, using an air/nitrox/helium diluent for formal decompression diving. Students are permitted to utilize a diluent and bailout mix with no greater than a 35% helium content and no less than a 20% oxygen content.
The FATHOM Gemini is a split-scrubber design mCCR that goes on a standard open circuit sidemount setup. It gives you an extremely streamlined and flat profile, which makes it an excellent tool for cave diving. You don’t need to change your style of diving if you are an avid sidemount diver already. FATHOM Gemini features the same needle valve for oxygen addition, in this case, on a dual-button MAV. It comes standard with a GOLEM DSV, but can be easily switched to a GOLEM BOV, if preferred.
As with any diving equipment, it is essential to receive proper training and certification before using the FATHOM Gemini or any rebreather system. Diving with a rebreather requires additional knowledge and skills beyond open-circuit scuba diving due to the different gas management and potential risks associated with closed-circuit systems.
